Biography

Dr Garrett O’Sullivan is a graduate of The National University of Ireland, UCC, from which he holds the degrees of BA and Research MA First Class Honours and H Dip in Ed. Having won the TCD Postgraduate Award, he graduated from The University of Dublin, Trinity College with a PhD in 1998.

Specialising in the field of Planning and Development, Dr O’Sullivan is widely published in Design Theory. His research, which presents in Journals such as ‘JCHAS’ and ‘Chimera’ concentrates essentially on the political, economic and conceptual tenets of Design. Dr O’Sullivan also works in a collaborative capacity with local government authorities and promotes curriculum advance through his role as external examiner.

In MTU, Dr O’Sullivan lectures on the Architectural Technology and Interior Architecture Programmes. He is course co-ordinator for the fourth year of the BSc (Hons) in Interior Architecture and postgraduate co- ordinator of the Research MSc and PhD programmes. In addition, Dr O’Sullivan is a member of ‘SIRIG’, Academic Council, R & I and Research Ethics Committees.
