Biography

13 years of structural engineering design and project management, including over 6 years with ARUP Consulting Engineers, working on 13 storey office developments, chemical plants, underground shopping centres, and gas rigs.

Lecture in MTU on structural and fire engineering modules and supervise projects at Levels 7, 8 & 9. Special research interest in structures, timber elements, and fire engineering. Lead the development of a Fire Engineering research facility in MTU Cork utilizing a bomb calorimeter & fire testing kilns.

Irish Representative and task Group Leader on European COST Action FP1404 “Fire Safe Use of Bio-based Building Products”, from 2014 to 2019.
