WaterFutureS project (2021 – 2025)
The WaterFutureS project is an EPA funded, multidisciplinary, research project, which has Irish and one international partner. The total project value is €1.168 million with the project duration from April 2021 to March 2025. MTU’s funding is €25,000.
Main Focus
The primary focus of the project is to gather information on the effects of climate change and demographic/social change of numerical modelling tools used in managing water quality in Ireland. The project will develop, adapt and incorporate the appropriate useful models into the systems used by the EPA in responding to the requirements of the Water Framework Directive. The outcome of this project will contribute to the improvement of the existing tools for better catchment management and policy development.
